{Pumpkin Patch}

Thank goodness we went to the Pumpkin Patch last week while the weather was still warm. It has turned off super cold. (yes we got snow today) The kids were so excited to go get pumpkins. There was a lot to pick from. It was a fun family outing.

DIY dress up cabinet

Seriously, I love how this turned out. So here is the story, Gavin got a new desk for his Birthday in Sept. We took this old entertainment center out of his room.  Which then was stored in our garage for about 6 weeks. I told Scott I have plans for that. He would pretend not to hear me, and then finally he said to me. Now what are you going to do with that Cabinet??? Hooray now was my chance to tell him How are grandkids would even use it, Payton would love it. so on and so on! Can you barley stand it. All we would need is White Primer Paint, Remove the Backing and put Bead Board, Remove the Shelf inside, Remove the 2 doors on the outside, Install a Rod, get 4 new knobs, find a mirror, put up vinyl, paint the sides with a cute design. Easy Right? I always think everything is easy. When really it isn’t. He put a lot of time into this project. Thank you Scott! I’m so sad to say but I don’t have a before picture. I know I took one but my camera would not load it to my computer. So use your imaginations in the beginning this was all a light brown color.

Homemade Lollipops

Over the weekend we made Lollipops, the kids were so excited. Scott went to Orson Gygi (see gygi.com)  to get the supplies we needed. It was fun and easy.

Old Fashion Lollipops

1 Cup Sugar

1/3 C Karo White Corn Syrup

1/2 C Water

Cook this on the Stove until it reaches 300 Hard Crack stage

Remove from heat and put 1 tsp. Flavoring and food coloring if needed.

Pour in to molds right away.

Grease your molds with Crisco and have them prepped and ready to go.

This recipe makes 10 suckers.

General Conference Oct 2012

Twice a year we as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints look forward to watching General Conference and hearing words and inspirations from the Apostles and leaders of our church.

I spent some of my day today getting some things ready for tomorrow’s sessions. Along with Cleaning out the Garage, Going on a ride with Scott to Midway for some yummy Pizza, etc. Moving along I did this mostly for my kids, to do while they watch. I printed some papers for Payton to color the Ties, (of the speakers), and a Fantasy Church Conference Bracket for the boys to fill out. Also for the boys booklets for them to right down some highlights of each talk. I found most of this printable stuff off of sugardoodle.com

For everyone 2 buckets filled with candy, with FAMILY and PRAYER on them and whenever those words are spoken you get to eat a piece. I only did 2 this time because that is all I had lying around the house.  By next April I will hopefully have a couple more to add to the Candy WORD Bucket Tradition.

a little reminder!

The young men and young women went to the Temple this past Wednesday for the combined activity. I had so many girls in the past say to me they lost or can’t find there recommend, so I decided to make these Holders for them. They are actually plastic badges.  I put there name on it for them and know they have a specific place just for there recommend. Hopefully this will help!
