Mother Daughter Night

The other night I was in charge of our Combined Young Women Activity at church. I asked the girls in my class what they wanted to do.

They suggested a Mother Daughter night. They wanted it Casual, Fun, Light hearted, some food, and a little bit spiritual. So then together we come up with a game night. They all love fruit pizza, I have always made it in a cookie sheet pan. But this time we did individual cookies and that way everyone could make there own the way they wanted. Plus we have some people that would be there that don’t eat sugar. So this way they can just have fruit. A win win for everyone.

When we all started this GAME called LIFE we left the presence of our Heavenly Father, To gain a body and to return back to life with him forever.

I started with the You Are Not Forgotten talk from Dieter Uchtdorf and they all made Forget me not Rings, with Bakers Twine.

Which led to a game, that Mother's write “What would your Daughters name be if Heavenly Father had named her by her divine potential, or her unique personality, or talents? Such has Valiant, Wise, Patient, Compassionate, Trustworthy, and so on.The daughters had to do the same for there Mothers. Tape it on the back of one another and ask questions, to find out what your name was. We played another game with whip cream on your nose and then catch a cheese ball.

Then we watched the Video of M Russell Ballard's talk on Mothers and Daughters. From lds.youth.com. I ended my talking about my own Mom and how I was lucky enough to be given one of those really special Mom’s too just like each of them. That they might not realize it now but there Mothers love them so much. They sacrifice so much for them. Love, Teach, Help, Serve, them constantly.

I also had to throw in that in the MIDDLE of this GAME called LIFE there is going to be hills to climb, road blocks, U-turns, and moments or times in there LIFE that nothing seems FAIR. I’ve heard it a thousand times. It isn't FAIR she gets to go, and I don’t! OR It’s totally not FAIR that I'm the youngest, or the Shortest, or that I have to share a room, or whatever you might be thinking right now.

Well to that, I say “FAIR IS WHERE YOU TAKE THE PIGS”. Simple as that. Everyone's life is different, Everyone’s circumstance's are different. WE are different and that’s OK because YOU are exactly who the Lord wants you to BE. I hope you all will never FORGET that YOU are NOT FORGOTTEN.

Crisp air… Fall has arrived

Hooray!! I absolutely love fall, like really love it.

Cooler weather,

windows left open all the time.

Sock begin to come to back on,

leaves changing,

new decorations in the house,

I love the color of fall, its so warm and welcoming,

canning food,

football season in full swing,

hunting season,

Scott growing a beard,

well I could do without that but that’s ok I changed his name to Steve until he shaves it off.

I was able to find time to make some new fall crafts.

Break a leg..

Whitney decided to participate in the Herriman Children’s Art Play. They preformed Aladdin this year. She is in the Chorus A known has The Towns People. They have been practicing 2 times a week for the last 6 weeks. She seemed to really like it. I am glad she has the opportunity to try different things to see what she likes and is good at.  Thanks to April and her kids for coming to support her and also Stephanie came to watch her too. That was so nice.

a simple gift

Whitney was invited to a B-day party yesterday. Didn’t have time to run to the store. So I used what I had at home to make her something. A magnet board and a bracelet.

Avoiding Degrading Media is the lesson title last week.  This is from a Mormon Ad many years ago. I just printed it and added embellishments.

A Flippin Sweet Party…

Gavin turned 13 this past week! He wanted to have some friends over, so guess what it did last night. Yup we had a party. I started planning it on Tuesday. I thought of Napoleon Dynamite! Gavin was still in school and I had the invitations done before he even got home. But I knew he would be up for anything, and he was. All the food details and games were pretty easy has well. Everyone had a great time. His friends are a bunch of FUN. We LOVE you Gavin and hope you have a terrific year.
