In 2 months he leaves US..

It’s been one month since Tristin received his Mission call to Indiana Indianapolis! Called to serve for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. The one thing that keeps going thru my mind is “He is prepared to leave, know we have to prepare to let him go”. I honestly believe Tristin will be a good missionary, cuz he already is one. He serves people all the time, he is a good example to all, people are better after meeting him, he loves the Lord, he has a desire to do the right thing, he is a hard working, and he never complains, these are just a few things I know to be true. Will it be hard YES it will, but is will be worth it.  He has proven time and time again to us, his parents that he can do hard things. He never backs down from a challenge, he likes to prove people wrong.
I’m shocked over the last month how much the adversary has been trying to pry his way into out home. He is a force that creeps his way into the simplest of conversations. Into the easiest of decision making and into our minds. I believe he tries really hard to have contention in our home, and ultimately show us our weakness and feel we aren't capable of moving forward with this journey that Tristin has decided to go on.
So for know I’m holding on to Gods Promise's. We will endure this well, by taking Jesus yoke upon us we learn all of things and especially how to be like him. We will cling to our faith and enjoy this time in our lives. We are excited to walk this path with him.

Finally an Eagle Scout…

In May we finally had the Court of Honor for Tristin to receive his Eagle Scout Award.

Along with a lot of other boys in our ward. It’s been awhile since they had one. I had to along with some other mothers keep after the leaders to have one.

Anyways Tristin did his Eagle Scout Project actually in Oct of 2012. He put on a Veteran’s Day celebration for Veteran’s living in an assistant living center. He had program with music and stories, refreshments and gave them all a wooden plaque with an American Flag. But moving on, this is what I came up for the court of honor.

I went and took some pictures of him so I could make his invitations. He has a huge personality and makes everything really fun and entertaining.

Then I made these 2 banners for the tables using my Cricut.

I found this shadow window box at hobby lobby and spent several evenings finding all his awards, merit badges and pins even some from cub scouts. Then Scott helped me glue them all on, after rearranging it several times.

It turned out so great and it was a surprise to him.

I made the centerpieces for the food table, just cut out stars and put all the words that a scout is like Kind, Brave, Trustworthy, Honest, Frugal Loyal, etc.

At least know I’ll be set for the next court of honor, I'm sure before I know it, It will be Gavin's turn.

We are super proud of Tristin he has always loved Scouting and has had some of the best leaders. He gave out 3 mentor pins that evening because he couldn’t pick just one. I know he learned great skills and has great memories of all his scouting years.

Our year is coming to end…

2014 is coming to an end, I really want to write down a couple things about each of us! just some highlights so they want untold or unwritten.

Payton: 5

She started Kindergarten, and gets to ride the bus. She passed level one of swimming lessons, she took dance and performed at Lagoon. She slept the last 10 month with her brother Gavin. But did get a Daybed in her room a few weeks ago and has slept in it every night since. She is full of spunk and is very out going with family and people she knows, but at school and church is she very shy. She loves bananas, eggs, milk, hanging out with her siblings, singing, watching Netflix and playing with her best friend Courtney. Also certainly she is on the nice list.

Whitney: 12

She started 7th grade and now in middle school. She is one of the smallest, but that defiantly doesn't distract form her personality. You can usually find her in the Kitchen baking, watching Netflix, playing with friends and her little sister. She loves science and volleyball. She is enjoy Young Woman's and also taking a dance class. She got a new bed a few weeks ago and she loves it. She is super responsible and helps her mom out a lot.

Gavin: 15

He turned 15 this year! Got his Drivers License Permit. Tried out for Student Body Officer again and made it. He also made the Freshman Basketball team. Which is just starting and will be hopefully be a good experience for him. He just earned his LIFE in scouting so now we are looking for a eagle project to do. He works as a sweeper for Jordan school district. He is a motivated kid and always looking for projects to work on and loves Trivia and watching the Jazz and Seahawks with his Dad. He also shot a deer this past fall. He got braces on this past spring and already can see a big difference. He always makes plans with all his friends and informs what his plans are. Typical teenager I guess.

Currently he work at Texas Roadhouse. He received his Eagle Scout this year. He spent 4 days on a house boat with his dad and scout leaders and loved it. He loves his truck, his phone and hanging out this friends (girls), milk, and going to Beaver. He is the Pres. of this Priest class and is very good at it. He is a very good example to everyone. He can’t wait for high school to be over. He helps me so much each day and won’t know that to do with out him.

Scott and Vicki: 40 & 39

We celebrated our 20th year wedding anniversary! We travelled to 19 different states this year. We went on a bike ride to Death Valley CA, it was a great ride and very interesting Also took a ride over to Capital Reef, Escalante, Bryce Canyon which was very beautiful. Utah is such a pretty place to live. We also went on the Church History tour with my parents and 6 of my siblings and there spouses. It was absolutely the high light of our year. We will never forget the memories made and the feeling we felt while there. We camped a lot this summer and fall and all the kids enjoyed it. It is so great to spend so much time with family. Scott painted and did my Craft room for me this year. I love it and enjoy making and doing what I do. It as been a heaven on earth for our family this year, having all the kids still at home. We have been fully aware that our kids are getting older and will be leaving home soon. We have loved our time with each of them, and enjoy spending everyday moments with them. Scott loved going to Lake Powell with Tristin and also hunting deer with Gavin this year. Vicki now knows that having girls includes a lot of baking, crafting, doing hair, painting nails and teaching them new things. We have truly been blessed this year and looking forward to what next year will bring our way.

summer photo’s & a summer job

These are just a few of the great and beautiful places we were able to enjoy this summer with our wonderful family and friends!!

20140621_20564320140621_13110520140705_130623-EFFECTS20140723_20592720140705_13412920140705_14380320140724_15210420140724_20204420140725_20442620140725_143111-EFFECTSIMG_20140713_202547

This summer we spent several weeks going down camping! So we could see Tristin. He got a job in Cedar City for the summer. We (well I) miss him everyday, I know this summer has been good for both of us. Oh trust me I still text or talk to him every day. He is a very good kid and makes me so proud. He has the kindest heart and willing to do anything for anyone. He is learning about what to do with his time, money, working hard, and has a new appreciation of things. He also now as a better understanding of what he doesn’t want to have as his career. So for the most part I think it was a success all around. He comes home in one week and it can’t come fast enough.
