For sure the Garage door
is the busiest door in our house.
I hear that door slamming shut all day!
So why not say HELLO
and GOODBYE…
After much debate and going back and forth over should I have a blog or should I not? Well, its official I am going to try this after all... Not that I have tons of time on my hands but, along with that I have 4 wonderful children and a GREAT husband whom I share this amazing LIFE with! I feel if I don't note things down they will soon be forgotten. That is why I blog!!
For sure the Garage door
is the busiest door in our house.
I hear that door slamming shut all day!
So why not say HELLO
and GOODBYE…
A few weekend ago Scott and I went to my sisters house to
paint her front room and family room. We also added Knotty Pine
to 2 walls. It ended up looking so nice and she loved it.
It was a fun weekend spent with 2 of my sisters and there families.
I’m glad I have a husband who is willing to do just about anything.
And he is a total perfectionist.
This past week Gavin ran for Student Body Officer for next year.
He will be in 8th grade.
He will be attending a new Middle School.
There are 3 middle schools right now that are in the boundaries of the new school, so they vote in 2 students from each school to make 6 SBO’s. (1- 8th grader 1- 9th grader from each school).
The process of this goes like this: fill out an application, write an essay, get 3 teachers to write a recommendation for you, and have to have above 3.0 grade point average. Turn into the Principal.
About 40 kids did this process.
Then he got a phone call and have to have an interview with the new principal and your current principal.
25 kids made it to the interview.
The same night of the interview he got a call from the school saying you made it to the next level. Make posters to hang I the school that next morning. We got busy and got them done. Also, told him to start thinking of a 2-3 min skit. To be performed in front of the student body. The popular vote would be in the following Monday.
10 kids made it to the Skit. And 2 of them would win!
New school name is Copper Mountain Middle School! Mascot: COLTS!
Gavin wrote & memorized his speech: This is it, and he wore the Bull's-eye costume off of Toy Story! He did it perfectly, smooth and with real emotion. He nailed it, it was awesome.
BLOOD ALONE MOVES THE WHEELS OF HISTORY…
Have you ever asked yourselves in an hour of meditation, which everyone finds during the day, how long we have been striving for greatness? Not only the years we've been at war the war of school, but from the moment as a child, when we realize the world could be conquered. It has been a lifetime of struggle a never ending fight, I say to you and you will understand that it is a privilege to fight. WE ARE COLTS! Future students of Copper Mountain Middle School, I ask you once more rise and be worthy of this historical hour. No revolution is worth anything unless it can defend itself. Some people will tell you success is a bad word. They’ll conjure up images of lazy kids, vandalized hallways, and bad report cards. This is our duty to change their perception. I say, students of the world… UNITE. We must never give up, for it is together…. TOGETHER THAT WE WILL PREVAIL, WE MUST NEVER CEDE CONTROL OF THE MOTHERLAND..
STAND BEHIND A TRUE COLT!
VOTE FOR GAVIN!
Now the hard part, we had to wait 4 days to see if he won! We were anxious and could barley wait! His Best friends was running as well, but his is going to be in the 9th grade. I kept telling Gavin I was just proud of his for running and doing his best. Either way it is a great learning and growing experience. It takes a lot of courage and self-esteem to get up in front of a large group of people. (especially 13,14, and 15 year olds) He has a lot of determination and has always been pretty hard headed. He is extremely smart and aware of his surroundings. He is a good, fun, hard working kid. We are so proud of him and love him so very much. We feel it a blessing we get to watch him grow and turn into who the Lord would have him be. What a journey it has been already and I'm sure the best is yet to be.
My heart is so full it could BURST…
I am so glad, I have this machine it makes doing projects so much easier.
It takes all of us to complete such a task!
It gives a whole new meaning to
a family that works together
stays together!
All done!
Yippee! Congrats Gavin
Whitney baked the cake and I
decorate it in a hurry
before he got home from basketball.
We are so excited for you
and know you will do an amazing job!
Love, MOM
Last week the girls made books for their mom’s.
They cut out each page, stapled together, and added washi tape.
Then the fun part filling them out.
It was fun listening to the girls talk about their mothers.
Most of them didn’t know how old she was, or what she did in her free time.
This week we talked about thinking before you speak.
I thought that this was something
important of all ages to know,
to do,
to be aware of,
to be present,
to pay attention,
when someone is speaking to you,
or around you.
We had a really good discussion about this,
they thought this was
important for friends,
and families
to practice this in there daily lives.
Then they made themselves a bracelet!
My friends daughter just had a birthday,
this is what we gave her!
The kit included:
sucker molds
4 flavors
sucker sticks
candy thermometer
high temp spatula
She loved it, and was so anxious to
make her first batch of yummy suckers.
