What an adventure!! Road Bike Trip #2

Our bike trip came and went in a hurry!

Seems like we were planning and preparing for months.

Our destination was South Dakota (Mt.Rushmore)

This is going to be picture over load, I think I will group them in days

But first alittle info, first up Wyoming, what first comes to mind is Windy,

no kidding it is so windy there. We went thru Evanston, Green River, Rock Springs,

took a tour of Martins Cove, Rawlins, and then up to Alcova where we stayed in a

cabin by the lake.

It was beautiful, tons of open space, peaceful, warm.

Day 2 we drove thru more of Wyoming to make to South Dakota.

Casper was first, then Lusk, Edgemont, to Hillside SD, Keystone SD

where we stayed and when to Mt Rushmore. It is full of gorgeous trees,

small country towns, trains,  it was truly a magnificent place and a wonderful

feeling of pride and freedom their. It was amazing. Our days were filled with

laughter, fun, and adventure.

Day 3

We woke up to rain, we were checking the weather changing our route,

we drove back thru Wyoming so we saw New Castle, Gillette, Buffalo, Worland,

Greybull and stayed in Cody. We drove thru the Big Horn National Forest.

This day ended up pretty cold. But defiantly our longest riding day.

We were pretty sore and happy to have this day over.

On to day 4 this morning we were heading to West Yellowstone which wasn’t to

far at all. We saw some of Yellowstone that we had never seen before. It was

beautiful and we were glad to have the change to see it. It snowed, on us this day.

we are all pretty cold, It rained but that wasn’t too bad. This evening we

stayed in a cabin at Island Park Idaho.

Our last day! Almost home, we drove thru Idaho, back thru Wyoming

around back to Utah. The towns we went to were Rexburg, Swan Valley Idaho.

Alpine, Afton and Montpelier of Wyoming. In Utah we come by Bear Lake, Down

Logan Canyon. It was a perfect last day. It was awesome weather. Beautiful

scenery we both feel so grateful to have had the change to go on this trip together, With

our family and friends. I loved having this much time alone with Scott. I’m so glad

he got me up there safe and back home. We had quite the adventure and I didn’t

complain at all,  Except for when I need to stop and get one more layer of clothing

on. Our kids did wonderful while we were gone.

I missed them but didn’t worry to much about them.

I look forward for the next road trip.

Dad’s Day 2013

It’s Father’s day!

What a great Dad my kids were given.

They have been truly blessed.

I am beyond grateful for him.

No matter how tired, how busy, he always

finds time to spend with our 4 kids.

Our boys want to be just like him,

and our girls adore every moment with him.

Our kids defiantly love there Dad!

All the kids gave him hand written notes,

candy, Dad’s root beer, shorts and a picture of

all of them.

As for me this guys is my milk to my cookies, cheese to my macaroni,

twinkle in my eye, shake to my bake, blue in my sky, flip to my flop,

bumble to my bee, spring to my step, beat of my heart, love of my life.

Happy Father’s Day to my Best Friend!

Also need to wish our Dad’s a Very Happy Father’s Day!

What amazing men they are.

We are so blessed to have them in our lives and our children’s lives.

What great examples they are to us.

We love you!

Family Dinner Questions!! Activity Days Fun

So for last weeks activity this is what we did.

We talked about

HOW TO START TALKING AGAIN.

To put down your I-pods, your cell phones,

turn off the TV, turn off the video games.

Get to know those you live with.

Make those you love feel important,

but spending quality time with them.

Well you get the picture.

I also thought this would be fun to do in the car,

for FHE, or around a fire pit.

Anywhere actually.

I sprayed painted the lids and rings before hand.

The girls cut out everything.

They are so darling!!!

Schools out for SUMMER

So this year I had one child in High School, one in Middle School,

one in Elementary, and one at home with me.

All the kids schools start at different time, and get home at different times!

They all have different schedules after school too.

This is been a very busy, fun, interesting year.

You have to be organized or try to be.

Lucky for us Scott is almost always home when they get home from school too.

Breakfast for instance this year we have tried something different, Sunday

nights we would make things like French toast, breakfast burritos, egg mcmuffin

sandwiches. So they only have to heat them up, and eat on the go. Gavin rides the

bus. Scott took Tristin half the year til he got his license and now he drives himself.

I take Whitney and 2 neighbor kids.

This seems to work out well and great for us.

Our kids do chores, homework, activities, help with dinner, Tristin works after

school, play with friends and of course with each other.

This is Payton's favorite time of day she loves when they get home.

Basically this is Family Time!

Bedtime comes at 9:00 pm this means no more TV, Computers, I-pad, and Cell Phones

are turned into me. The boys know this rule and have no problem doing it.

The house gets quiet, the lights get turned off and we

get settled for the night. To me honest I like this time of day! I stay up awhile

longer doing things like dishes, watching a TV show I missed

or I have on DVR,  talking to Scott, or finishing a project.

But things around here are about to change, I am so excited to spent the summer

with all 4 of my kids, so I have been thinking of fun stuff to do with them.

I know the first few day they will want to sleep in which is totally fine with me.

But soon I will be hearing I’m bored!!! I have been thinking of stuff for us all to do.

Like waterpark fun, park time, shaved ices, swimming, lemonade stands, late nights, sleepovers,

movies, hikes, fishing, camping, bike rides, picnics, BBQ’S, make homemade

popsicles, I know life gets alittle crazy and I rarely have a quiet moment. I

know my grocery bill will go up in the summer. I know most of my weekends

are already filled up with stuff scheduled, we have scout camps, Youth

conference's, reunions, bike trip with Scott, swimming lessons. But mostly I just want to spend time

with those I love. One of my favorite quotes by Marjorie Pay Hinckley is:

the trick is to

enjoy life.

don’t wish away

your days,

waiting for better

ones ahead.

and that is just what I intend to do.

Wish me luck

I'm going to need it!

Last day of School is tomorrow!Smile

activity days DIY puzzles

For last weeks activity

the girls made puzzles, they can

take them to church for there younger

siblings to play with.

Or use them in FHE.

I printed off some different pictures,

bought the mod podge and sticks.

First, you cut the picture into stripes,

apply the mod podge to the stick and also

to the top of the picture and let dry.

Super easy craft activity.
